We purchased the Maxi-Cosi infant car seat because of the Quinny Stroller, which is the only infant seat which is compatible with the stroller if you want them to connect. I wish i had done research on car seats before agreeing to any of these products, I went mostly on appearance and not at all on functionality and safety because as a new parent I thought they are one in the same. BIG MISTAKE. First of all. We could very rarely get the car seat to latch properly in the base and half the time with out realizing it, we were driving around with out the seat secured safely to the car which is VERY scary. Secondly, if it did latch to the base, it was nearly impossible to unlatch it. It was a constant fight from day #1 to get the seat in and out of the car. The seat was very very heavy and terrible to carry over an arm. All around a terrible terrible product.
I ended up calling the manufacturer and they took the car seat back, after huge complaints about it's functionality and safety, they admitted that the seat did have a "design flaw"! Imagine that! The manufacturer admitted it was a total piece of junk that is a death trap to your child. Do NOT buy this.

My daughter has been in the Mico for seven months now, and I have been very pleased with our choice. Before deciding on the Mico, we spent weeks researching different seats. We chose this one because it was the highest rated for safety in our price range, that was also compatible with the stroller we chose (Maxi-Cosi Foray). I hadn't had any experience with carseats before this one, and wasn't sure how to do the strap adjusting, base install, etc.
The base is correctly installed and passed inspection. However, I'm still able to move the base back and forth more than the approved one inch. It makes me feel like the seat is not as secure as it should be. I don't know if this is because of the LATCH system in my car (Nissan Versa) or what, but according the the inspector, the seat is in the car the way it's supposed to be. That is the reason I didn't give five stars - it just feels loose in my car.
My mom was able to figure out the strap adjustments on her own in about five minutes and showed me how everything worked.
My daughter loves her seat! She's 17.5 pounds and 26 inches and she fits perfectly. My husband and I joke that her carseat has narcotic properties because she generally falls asleep as soon as she's in there. The materials are very soft. We went with the black and I don't know whether that is why it holds heat or if that is just something that carseats do, but she is always very warm when she comes out of her seat.

Admission: Bought this seat not only for the great safety reviews, but it also matched the interior of our vehicle. The harness is good, but the strap covers slip down easily and the straps rub on baby's neck. The chest clasp is very pointy plastic, which makes it hard to get baby in and out without scratching her. It's fairly easy to change the strap length, but baby will grow out of this seat very quickly. The seat is fairly lightweight, however, so that's a plus. The canopy is quite small and doesn't do much to shade baby at all. Handle is very curvy and doesn't have one good place to grasp - also nearly impossible to use any kind of toy attachments for car seat handles.
Purchased the Valco Ion stroller (which we LOVE) with separate attachment to use this seat on the stroller - would not advise the attachment purchase. We used the car seat and stroller together only twice, because the necessary attachment was very flimsy and didn't snap properly onto the stroller.
Overall - would advise getting a different system.
